First and foremost, we would like to offer our sincerest congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Kenny Kingston for ringing in the new year with something TRULY to celebrate - getting married! Ellen - judging by this photo, you were a STUNNING bride. And your mom is simply put - a wedding planning rockstar! Thanks from the Jazzy Johnz team for allowing us to glam up your wedding with our luxury restroom facilities. Now, onto some fun, inspirational things! I will be honest, I have never actually considered the idea of exchanging vows on New Year's Eve, mainly because I have never even even THOUGHT to put the idea on the table! But let me tell you...a part of me regrets not considering it for my own wedding....here is why.... Most of your life, New Year's Eve will be one of those occassions you stay up late for....like most people. So, why not get married on a day and night where your friends and family can call you any time during the day or evening to wish you a happy anniversary?!? Your anniversary will ALWAYS be a reason to celebrate, even if you two happen to be arguing that day. Luckily for you and your spouse, you two will be forced to make up at midnight when the clock strikes kissing hour. I seriously can't imagine a better conflict resolution... one where a "clock" is playing cupid. A New Year's Eve wedding is sounding better and better, isn't it? I haven't even gotten to the good stuff. There truly is so much you can do with a New Year's Eve theme; the options are endless. Below are my suggestions for a rockin' New Year's Eve wedding & reception. A Dozen "Must-Haves" for a Jazzy New Year's Eve Wedding 1) Glitzy "Save the Dates" & Glamorous Invitations Who doesn't love going to the mailbox to find a sparkly gold glittery invitation to a fun party? No one, of course! Give your guests the first impression that your wedding is a "cannot miss" event. Dress up your "Save the Dates" and your wedding invitations with a fun gold, glittery theme. Wedding Paper Divas has a ton of options! Your guests will feel that celebrating the new year anywhere else just wouldn't be as fun as coming to your wedding! Well, of course! 2) Mix 'n' Match Metallic Dresses Mismatched (but still "matchy") seems to be the theme nowadays when it comes to bridesmaids' dresses. Coordinate your best gals in dresses that tie in with your celebratory theme. David's Bridal has a nice selection when it comes to this dress style. Click here to view their options. 3) Party Horn Boutonniere Your groom and groom's party will be on a poppin' with their special boutonnieres that won't leave them smelling like a floral bouquet of roses. These for the grooms and his guys would make such a great photo for the later....when they ring in the new year by "tooting their own horn." These could work out nicely if you cut them short and dressed up a bit. 4) Ball-Dropping Escort Cards Guide your guests to their assigned seat with these super festive placement cards. The gold is adorable, but silver would like nice too, and in my opinion, would like more comparable to the ball in Times Square. I found these online, and if you prefer the gold ones, they have those too :) You may have to add a base to these with some hot glue, so they stay in place.
6) Gold Shimmery Table Decor with "Clocks" as Accents & Confetti Popper Centerpieces Dress up your tables with shimmery golden tables cloths and bright gold serve ware. You can also help keep your guests aware of the time by placing clocks on tables, by the bar, or anywhere that suits your fancy! 7) Gold Balloons with Big Numbers (or something of the like) If you don't desire to go full on "cheese" (although, some would say balloon numbers would'nt classify as cheese), go with at least something! Something that spells "love" perhaps? Order your big gold numbered balloons here. 8) Photobooth with New Year's Eve Props Your guests will totally thank you later for a legitimate New Year's photobooth, especially one that prints photos on the fly! What a special keepsake for your guests to take home on your special day!? Check out these cute New Year's props on Etsy. 9) Mini Champagne Bottle Party Favors Let your guests take the party home with them with their own bottle of bubbly! I love these small bottles with the gold wrapper, bow and hanging tag. Such a simple, creative and great idea! I found these online for $3.58/per bottle, but perhaps there are cheaper options out there. 10) Go Gold with the Candy Bar Sweet tooth anyone? Nothing says a modern-day celebration like a well-planned candy bar. Stick with your theme and incorporate gold and silver candies, possibly ones that have some shine to them - like rock candy or shimmery pearl-like chocolate candies. Your guests will love bagging up some sweets for the ride home. Oriental Trading has everything you need to build a primo candy bar. 11) Champagne Tower You've always wanted one - your very own champagne tower. And now you have the perfect reason to make it happen - your New Year's Eve wedding! Yes, it might be a mess afterward, but as the old saying goes, YOLO (You Only Live Once). Your guests will be thoroughly entertained watching the spectacle that will be - your champagne tower coming to life - with levels of champagne glasses holding ounces of golden goodness. I say, "Go for it!"
